Wow-I've had lots of great feedback from everyone (especially over email!). Today was my first day! I managed to grin and bear cleaning out my nasty travel mug in the bathroom at our local coffee shop. I also felt so guilty getting a to-go soup in a styrafoam container that I "borrowed" a real bowl from the hospital cafeteria. I give myself 5 stars today. And I'll give the bowl back. I think the hard part of this challenge for me is to actually clean out my reusables. I"m sure college roomies (esp. Erin!) can attest to the fact that I threw away many real bowls I never felt like cleaning..ohhh the guilt!!!
Kudos to everyone who already uses reusable water and coffee containers-keep up the good work!

So THAT explains why your bowl supply is smaller! I've seen those disgusting things rolling around in your car. I'm glad you've turned a new leaf in the "cleaning out" process. 2 months of crusting coffee can take some serious elbow grease though. I'm taking my own bowls when I buy takeout soup or salad now--hate that plastic they put them in. Good idea. We might start a whole new campaign now in C'town. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBeen using my aluminum bottle all month--not so good with the coffee cups but will try harder. Howsit goin'?
ReplyDeleteWhere are you? I need help staying focused. I'm inconsistent...I brought home a Post-it note from a store because the store did not recycle paper and I wouldn't just throw it out. Now THAT's silly!
